Pankaj Mishra's only novel is set in the holy city of Benares, now known as Varanasi, by #theriver Ganges. I enjoyed it well enough but it was somewhat lethargic in style, ruminative and slow. But I remember reading it during several lazy, hot afternoons and the soft, dreamy mood was perfect. #Rocktober @BarbaraBB @Cinfhen
