So -my son is doing fine this morning. He is 16 1/2 years old. He was eating Chinese chicken and it lodged in his throat -we were able to force a large part out but a small part got stuck- but he could talk and mostly breathe OK and the phone doctor told us to give him Coca-Cola over and over and it would come up and sure enough 20 ounces of Coke -10 times throwing up violently- and it dislodged. An ordeal ..

TheBookHippie @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I was ready to take him in I know we did this before with my daughter too, it‘s a little unorthodox but now we‘re two for two. We googled afterwards and it is all over the Google doctor that it works. How bizarre! 14mo

curiouserandcurioser @TheBookHippie i feel you!! We had an incident with a grandbaby trying to swallow a quarter and i had to flip her over and smack her back to get it out-everybody was relieved, but crying!! Never want to go through thst again!! 14mo

thebackyardgnome The docs at thr haematology hospitsl i spent a chunk of mt childhood in told us to alwaus keep a bottlr of coke handy. Makes for a great antinausrea treatmrnt, kids during chemo were chugghng a lot of it - doctor's orders. Replacrs your glucose, and thr caffeine speeds up thr absorption of thr nsaids and other similar meds. 14mo
Reggie Does he have a lot of acid reflux? Maybe his esophagus has narrowed due to the reflux. Hope this never happens again to him. 14mo
