So close to getting 2 bingos it hurts. Completed this month‘s #DoubleSpin in the actual month it what chosen, so that‘s a win. ⭐️ I was expecting it to just be a joke book and the jokes are funny. I think my favorite line was “I am a Virgo. If you hadn‘t suspected that on some level, That‘s on you. Who publishes a list of insults? That‘s Virgo shit.” 😄 ⬇️

MatchlessMarie But it‘s actually deeper than that and includes a conversation with the author about being a “gender traitor” and a further exploration of toxic masculinity. Very short read and worth it, IMO. #BookSpinBingo #ShelfSweeper #4Elizabeth (edited) 7d

I finished 18 books in May, so it seems like i‘m getting my reading mojo back! Finished two great books today, and read for many, many hours ❤️ quite the eclectic selection. Though everyday about #4Elisabeth 💔 #ShelfSweeper Thanks @Andrew65 for cohosting!

Thanks so much to @Andrew65 and @Tove_Reads for hosting the #ShelfSweeper readathon in May. I was uncertain at first but I managed to read all six of my planned books. 🤩 I appreciate this kick in the pants to dust off (sometimes literally! 😂) a few of those lingering tomes and read ‘em!

sarahbarnes Great work!! 🎉🎉 1w
Ruthiella @sarahbarnes Thank you! 🙏 1w

@batsy is right. This book is 🍌👖! Per the introduction it‘s one of the first novels to feature a female (amateur) detective. The “Lady” definitely shares some characteristics with Marion Halcolmb from The Woman in White. She‘s subverting Victorian ideals of femininity but apologizing for it, more often than not. In some ways this book made me think the fairytale Bluebeard in the protagonist‘s effort to find out the truth about her husband.

Ruthiella My final book for #shelfsweeper 🥳 1w
BarbaraBB Oh wow I have never heard of this one but I loved The Woman in White so am definitely stacking. And I do miss @batsy and her recommendations! 1w
Ruthiella @BarbaraBB This is a good one! I recommend it! 👍 1w

Ruthiella @Reggie I know, me too. We are friends on Goodreads, but that platform doesn‘t have the immediacy of Litsy. (edited) 1w
CarolynM I miss Suba too. Hoping she‘ll come back sometime. (edited) 1w
Ruthiella @CarolynM Maybe she will. 🤞 1w

Seems incredible May is almost over! Thanks to everyone who‘ve participated in #ShelfSweeper it has been great seeing all the books that have been read! I‘ve been thinking a lot about Elisabeth too, and how fragile life is #4Elisabeth What should we do in June? I‘ll be reading lots of South African books, but would be happy to do a readathon or buddy read or something. What about you?

Ruthiella Adorable pooch! ❤️🐶 I will be attending #CampLitsy25 in June, plus I have 4 other group reads going on: #hashtagbrigade #nancydrewbr #EBBR and #KLBR . 😅 1w

Day 28! Wow! A topsy turvy week trying to fit 5 days of work into 3 (training on Friday WHY??) plus getting my sunroom painted. Still making progress on my books but not sure if I‘ll finish this month. #ShelfSweeper @Andrew65 @Tove_Reads

Aims42 “The Time in Between” is hands down one of my Top 10 books I wish I could read for the first time again. It is so good! (edited) 1w
AnnCrystal 🤩🖌️👍🏼💝. 1w
Bookwormjillk @Aims42 I read it when it first came out in the US and loved it, and just enough time has passed since then where I don't remember exactly what happened so am able to read again. 1w

I was absolutely glued to the start of this book & the premise was intriguing, unfortunately it suffered from the tendency to prioritise romantic relationships over the Trials which made the middle section drag a bit. The ending almost made up for it though, I was surprised by that extra twist, & that doesn't happen often. I was 50-50 on carrying on but the ending caught my attention again, so I probably will read the next one. 3.75🌟

This is a low pick for me. While I liked the characters, the plot didn't work for me. I get that it is fiction; however, as I have often stated, I want it to be at least a little bit believable. This story started out on a limb then just went on to be ridiculous. 3⭐️
Lots of triggers in this book. You've been warned. #Serieslove2025 #ShelfSweeper @Tove_Reads @Andrew65 #Read2025 @DieAReader #ChunksterChallenge2025 @Amiable
