My 3 quirks!
1- I‘m a neat freak - everything has to be in its place !
2- I‘m wary of food that has an odd texture!
3- I can only read one book at a time!

I adore this cosy image and quote. You can always rely on Van Gogh for wisdom and clarity.

Thank you for my wonderful list @peaKnit I was considering reading Yellowface recently as it's been such a big book this year and wanted to see what the fuss was all about so this has given me the perfect opportunity.
Thank you @monalyisha for hosting this event. Love it as it has enabled me throughout the years to read some great books. 📚📖

“Some artists paint pictures of flowers or people or landscapes. Not Jackson. He expresses his thoughts and feelings directly on the canvas, calling it “energy and motion made visible.”
This children's book is an example of a biography, told from a third person perspective. Upon reading it, I found it to be a fast-moving narrative. It was a rather short read in comparison to other biographies. Additionally, it was very easy to read and follow along with. It told a beautiful story focusing on the subject of art. It offers its readers additional knowledge on the subject and the various thoughts that go into the work of artists.
Published in 2002, this children's biography is an authoritative account of the life of the pioneering abstract expressionist painter, Jackson Pollock. Throughout the book it discusses the time, skill, and uniqueness that is displayed in all of his artwork. In the book it specifically follows Pollock through this creation of his famous painting, “Lavender Mist“. It is a Robert F. Sibert Honor Book recipient. It is a Robert F. Sibert Honor Book.
I totally forgot about this series! This is the 3rd book in the Gilded Gotham series. This one has Genevieve and Daniel hunting for a killer in NY in the heat of summer. I could actually imagine how hot it was. I couldn‘t imagine being that hot with all the layers of clothes they had to wear! Woman‘s throats are being cut and they‘re afraid it‘s Jack the Ripper. There is also Jack the Peeper slipping through windows while women are sleeping.
Beautifully illustrated, this picture book introduced me to some familiar and unfamiliar names.
Each letter is dedicated to what the artist was best known for - for example Yayoi Kusama is featured on the page “D is for Dots” - and it ends with mini bios of all artists mentioned.

#3: Do you do audio, too? I can't. I have to read the words.
