readinginthedark This book was so much scarier than the movie! 7y
GingerAntics @readinginthedark I haven‘t seen the movie either. It‘s not really my genre. 7y
readinginthedark Yeah, I actually read it in middle school. I probably wouldn‘t have as an adult. 😆 7y

GingerAntics @readinginthedark MIDDLE SCHOOL?! Something I read about it said it was one of his starriest stories. I‘m afraid it would give me nightmares now, forget middle school. lol You are a far braver woman than I. 7y
readinginthedark Oh, it definitely gave me nightmares! 🙈But my cousins thought I was really brave, because when we watched the movie, I wasn‘t scared. 😆The version in my head was so much more terrifying! I‘ve only read two of his—this one and Carrie—and I could see it being one of his scariest. There‘s a psychological element where you‘re not sure what‘s really happening...not to mention the little boy, and you don‘t know what will happen to him! 7y
GingerAntics @readinginthedark I seem to do that, too. With things like that I always make them more intense in my mind. I went through a phase where I read a couple horror/thriller novels, but my dreams went so wonky and just stopped. lol 7y
readinginthedark Makes sense! I always have crazy dreams anyway, so my question is usually: “This book is really stressing me out. Am I at least learning something new to make the experience worth it?” You can see why I read memoirs but not horror any more. 😆 7y
GingerAntics @readinginthedark I‘m that way, too. I‘ve always slept funny and dreamed funny, so that‘s one of the main reasons I stay away from horror stories. 7y
