I would want a memoir from EA Poe after he was dead. I want to know exactly what happened to him on the last day of his life. Why was he disheveled and wearing clothes that didn't fit him? Did he have rabies? Was the famous author killed from a beating? From carbon monoxide poisoning? From alcohol withdrawal? Cooping? Brain tumor? Flu? Murder? #theafterlifememoir 😀

Bookwomble I listened to an In Our Time podcast about Poe the other day, and one of the panelists speculated that, perhaps, he'd been "press ganged" into voting fraud, which was apparently a thing at the time - fake identity and "voter" threatened into the ballot to support a particular candidate.
