Ahhhhhh. That ending was a RUSH. Finally diving into this series and phew. I can‘t wait to get my hands on book 3!

Happy birthday to me. I reflected and wrote and read a book this morning over a peppermint mocha. This year, 28, was so good to me. It was a step into freedom. Next year, this age, 29, is for nourishment and living out that freedom. 🥰🤍 I feel good. A sad dark chocolate rainy day good.
It‘s my birthday 🥰 spent the morning reading at Starbucks, and gonna see the new S&S hunger games movie tomorrow.
More photos of my costume that won the contest at my local B&N midnight release party for Iron Flame 🥰✨😍

Had an amazing adventure at the midnight release party for #ironflame to my complete joy and surprise I won the costume contest! I‘ll post another photo of my wings I threw together. Last minute hyper focus for the win!

Obsessed! So good! I joined an in person book club and this was our first read. I will be attending a midnight release party for book two in a week or so and I am SO Excited!!!!
Strong character, disability representation in the lead character, steamy romance, dragons, so good. 😭🙌🏻🤍 I cried and laughed and loved every minute of this ride.
Literally flying through this book. Started it at the request of a new book club I joined, and I am more then thrilled. Falling back in love with reading is a constant new joy in my life that ebbs and flows through its seasons. This book has hurdled me past that line. I want to live inside of it and I am dreading the ever too quickly approaching last pages!
Also- the weather is stunning right now! #fourthwing #dragons #fall #readingweather
This book completely utterly changed the series I was reading. Book one you are enjoying a cup of tea with magic and an amazing queen. Book two (this book) you open your eyes after that first sip and realize you are somewhere completely different, and the tea has morphed into some sort of terrifying distopian concoction. By the end it‘s a wow. A woah. A huh… very well told story. Conflicted and curious and glad I read it.
I enjoyed this novel so much. The magic and inner strength. The becoming. The power behind a girl who is not held back by youth, by innocence/naivity , or by love. But honored for it in a kingdom where all three are lacking until her arrival. Also, the daughter/mother rift was comforting to me for selfish reasons. It‘s difficult for me to connect with books with solid m/d relationships.
Amazing read. On to book two now!
I don‘t know why but I have some inner complex where I feel like audiobooks are not “real” enough when it comes to reading. Happily changing this inner narrative. Through so many mental health struggles physical reading has been tiring and challenging. Audiobooks are giving me life and making me feel like myself again. I‘m so glad they have brought me back to this world this last year. Driving and audio booking is now my favorite way to de stress.
I loooooooooved this book. Fell in love with the characters and the world- which was immersive and well built. The author fed details at just the right times, by the end you feel like you could exist in this world. A convincing fun dystopian- of the few vampire books Iv read this is a huge favorite. I wish there were more steamy scenes but the romance was stellar without anything over the top. Lots of blood. Thrilling. Not too gross. Reading was✨
I have never enjoyed reading Christmas novels near Christmas. I can read them in July at the beach though 😂 Ug this year I‘m begging littens to change my mind! What‘s a book I can‘t help but love holiday themed?
I enjoy fantasy, YA, emo crap, and other random fictions. Open to much. I don‘t enjoy horror or too intense thrillers. Also avoiding anything with mother daughter bonds at the moment.
Any recs?
Pic from our beach day trip last week
I think I enjoyed this so much for two reasons 1. I listened to the audiobook which added a level of immersion I‘m not sure I would have gotten otherwise. And 2- I have never read this type of book before so I definitely wasn‘t expecting the ending at all.
It was a very enjoyable experience! I enjoyed observing the inner workings of psych wards and how the mind works and processes trauma in this particular story.
Ahhhhhh i put this one off for a long time and I‘m kicking myself for it because I‘m obsessed with this series now. I‘m in the middle of book three- listening on audiobooks via Libby- amazing narration. Such a good book/series. #highlyreccomend #yesplease #5stars #fairies #fae
What. A. Book.
My heart stopped in the last pages and I don‘t know if it will ever beat the same way again. This is a book that doesn‘t solve. Doesn‘t answer. But leaves so many beautiful terrifying energizing questions. And some weird form of hope I‘d lost previously. Writer- you are magic. Writing, next to rainstorms, is my favorite form of magic. I will def be rereading this soon. More then once. #magic #women #love #live #5stars #fav
It‘s my birthday!!!! My husband surprised me with these beautiful writing gloves with the never more poem on them. I‘m obsessed with them.
Ahhhh I‘m so happy today. Books and buttons and crepes and crows and adventures. 🤍✨🖤
I absolutely absolutely absolutely loved this book. It was strange, full of fae and magic and blurred lines and grief. Not for the feint hearted. Desperation and motherhood and loss and deep deep pain. Ireland and the dark side of fairy stories. ✨🖤🙌🏻 so good.
😭 me and my 6year old son had a rough morning. With our addressed mail in hand, we strolled into our library in our new town ready to get our new card. We had to leave empty handed, because at this branch they won‘t give one unless your license has the current address on it too. We‘re both autistic, and we just were not prepared for the change in plans/rules from our last library to this one. So disappointed. Now we will have to wait weeks. 💔😭
I can‘t believe I forgot to post about this here!
I published my first book 🤍✨✨✨✨✨ yay! It‘s available on Amazon! I‘m so excited 🤭🥺😍#published #poetry #nationalpoetrymonth
Probably one of my favorite series ever. And upon searching for the titles to add to my shelf, I discovered there are soooo many mor ebooks by her and even possibly in this series besides the main 5. Her writing is DELICIOUS. Beautiful. Sensual the way she strings words. I want to bathe in her words. I can‘t wait to read more of her work. audio books read by Kate simses- STELLAR
100 stars. #newfavorites
Saw a slide for this movie on a streaming service and remembered it was on my shelf. I‘m absolutely loving it. All the dystopian novels for me please! #dystopian #playerone #hellolitsy
It starts out so fun. The characters are lovable, and then as their flaws are uncovered you are slapped with your own choices. To support them? To love them? To despise them for their actions? Very intense subjects hidden under a playful story. Very easy to apply to the real world. An important complex book that‘s easy to read. I‘d love to shake hands with the author of this one. The audio book was excellently read.
This place was ENCHANTING. Bahavana in Raleigh. The most amazing food experience, a dine in library, and a bookshop. Just incredible. I‘m still dreaming of bao rolls.
Working through electively chosen reading for birth worker certification. Book one... while I‘m sure I‘m not the authors target audience- this book has pulled me in and held me. I am so glad I found it.
Always a wonderful Christmas since my husband discovered books make me eeeek #ilikebigbooksandicannotlie #christmashaul that top book though 😍
My book haul. Minus a cookbook. And whatever I get tomorrow at round 2 Christmas with parents.
😍😍😍📚📚📚😍😍😍
But now WHAT should I read first?
???????????????????????????????
#christmashaul #books #dystopia #poetry #jolabokaflod
The first part of this book was hard for me to get through and grasp, I wasn‘t a fan of the writing style, and I feel like so many of the “dystopian” details could have been better explained. I couldn‘t get a good grasp on a lot of it. However the theme of the book was such an overwhelming and great message that it was worth muddling through. I wouldn‘t read it again, but feel it‘s an important book to read at least once.
Reading (a different book) on the beach alllll dayyyyy ❤️
I need recommendations. I LOVED bird box and have never read anything like it. I don‘t do horror or thriller usually... but I‘m inching that way. Nothing too scary. What should I read next??
Dudes. This book is intense.
Iv never read any kind of sci-fi thriller before.
But this one just intrigued me so much.
One of many books I got for my birthday yesterday 😍
Sweet potatos, popcorn garland making, crochet, and reading. It‘s starting to set in- the holiday vibes. I‘m so cheerful!
Hello litsy friends! Just checking in. Reading, crocheting, and recovering from major spinal surgery! 2020 has been so crazy 😂 it my birthday and I‘m full of joy. Hope y‘all are well
#Two4Tuesday
1- yesssss. I especially love used book stores, and hunting for old beautiful books, different versions of my favorite classics, and books with inscriptions written inside.
2- tea!
It‘s been sooo long since Iv had a cup of tea or went hunting. It‘s definitely overdue.
Loving this book so much! Peaceful morning reading time today.
Cheers! Today I dressed up and wandered book isles for self care. It was glorious. Also, I‘m so excited to finally read this after 10ish years of waiting!
1- water- I knew it but the quiz confined it! Iv been binging avatar all week too lol.
2- the Eragon series in jr high school saved my mind from so much.
3-not sure yet! Something from my shelf of unread books. Currently reading Oliver Twist.
Thanks for the game! This was fun! Who hasn‘t played yet? @wanderinglynn @Librarybelle ?
Can‘t believe it‘s been so long since Iv been on here. T‘Was the season. How‘s everyone? Why are you reading?
Happy Jólabókaflod litsy friends!!!
We celebrate this holiday every year, and do our book exchange on Christmas Eve. I got bill clinton and James Patterson‘s book- a president is missing. I‘m excited to start it. And I got my husband and son a book to read together- tagged. They both struggle with reading so hearing them share this and bond over the story makes my heart happy. Especially since I so loved these books as a kid!
I need audiobook suggestions! Listening on Libby
Finishing Christmas projects and need a background story
I know many of you all have been checking on me and I so appreciate it. Posting another update because I can‘t not share with you all, you‘ve been so uplifting. A few days after my grandma passed, 4 days after my birthday and 2 after her funeral while I was out of state in Colorado- away from my home, I had a miscarriage, a full labor still born. 💔 💔 prayers appreciated. We are doing good and I‘m home now, but man it‘s been a month.
Reading books and enjoying my birthday in a beachside hotel. I haven‘t been on litsy in too long 💔
It‘s been a rough season. Pregnancy complications, mental health illness take overs, and yesterday my grandma passed away. Today is bittersweet.
So happy for this day of rest before I am planebound to CO for the funeral.
Reading through Austen‘s books currently. Which is your favorite??
Reading day
Feeling much better thank you all for the kind comments
My hands down favorite book. Rereading again. Because comfort is needed.
Seems one thing after another lately, I am not a complainer ever. But after I recovered from food poisoning fully, this week I threw my back out. I can‘t walk or move at all. Excruciating pain. My family all moved too recently so I‘m on my own with my toddler. I can‘t catch a break! Thank God for good books❤️ needing the escape more then usual right now.
Phenomenal. This book was so rich, full of characters, culture, heart wrenching moments that made your heart break in two. This book really got to me in the best way. Circus life in the time of hitlers reign. It was so beyond something I‘d ever imagine with my own brain, I love when a book brings me somewhere I‘d never go on my own. Highly recommend.
Help!
Hey everyone! I haven‘t been on in so long- my apologies. I was severely sick in the hospital for a bit, and then I had like 6 clients in a row the last few months (I‘m a birth photographer) so Iv has very little time to post about my reading.
Alas, I need your help!!! Why does this say condensed from the book?? Am I not reading the full version?
I LOVED this book.
The author did a stellar job at telling an amazing twisted story, while connecting the era and its issues to modern day points of view. This book was SO readable, it was a pleasure read and I forsake my book clubs to finish it. I was so caught in the story, so torn between characters, if drove me wild in the best way. So much meaning and great quotes too! I will have to read this one again at some point.
I have a new reading corner and it‘s lovely 😊
My son has been practicing taking photos of my with my iPhone (he‘s 3) and I found this gem in my camera roll 😂 pregnant, cooking, and reading in my kitchen by my plants while my bacon crackled. This pretty much sums me up in this season of life.
