Got to see Hanif Willis-Abdurraqib read last night - he was brilliant and funny and heartbreaking. I'm so excited to read his debut collection.

Sharp and funny and distinctive essays, largely about black Southern life. Family, politics, hip hop, prejudice, self reflection. Highly recommended.

One of my favorite reads of the year so far. Charming, brilliant, full of perfectly realized characters. Wanted to start it again as soon as I'd finished.
