This was great! I know the "current" chapters were necessary but the historical parts of the story were absolutely riveting.

Adventurous. I can‘t think of any other words to describe this amazing autobiographical story that transports you from tropical Togo to the endless night of Greenland. 7/10
This was a bit out there. A mix of horror and fantasy trying to pretend like it's sci fi. A scientist in Greenland unfreezes a young girl who turns out to be alive and ancient. They need to learn her language to uncover her secrets. It was entertaining for a couple of hours.

I'm currently in CPH waiting for a flight and I don't think this book is leaving DK.
This is a non-fiction story about a woman and her husband who spend their spare time rowing/kayaking in the high latitudes near the arctic circle. In their day jobs they are avalanche experts in Alaska. Some really interesting information about kayaking and avalanches. I can say without a doubt that while her experiences sound fascinating, I would not want to trade places and row for 10 hours straight in icy water.
This has many elements that make it a good Alistair MacLean thriller. A plane crash, hostile terrain, a medical man for a protagonist, a closed circle of suspects. I was shivering with cold just reading it. Most of the characters had a chance to play a key role in the story, even the women (as much as is possible in these older thrillers). It‘s not top of my list for favourite MacLeans, but it‘s definitely just outside the podium.
I love when one book brings you to another. Collapse has a chapter on the Greenland Norse (the book is about why societies fail or survive), and then I realized Cold Earth is about archaeologists in a Viking settlement in Greenland. So I had to bump it up the list. Both books from my shelves, and Collapse was sent to me on an early book swap here - apologies I can't remember who sent it, but thank you.
This book looks first at the explorations across the land mass of #Greenland, then at the scientific studies of the ice, which have led to some major understandings and more questions about climate change. Really interesting, sobering read. (Bindi doesn‘t want to talk about it.)

A plane crashes near an ice station on #Greenland. It appears that there is a murderer on the plane, and this puts the survivors and those at the Ice Station at great risk. A life-risking fast moving adventure across the frozen wasteland of Greenland ensues in this high suspense book. Written a long time ago but still is an excellent read.
