I thought her second book suffered middle-book lag before ending on a strong note. The concluding book to the trilogy earned a two-star rating on Goodreads, my first to hand out. The plotting seemed rushed, the characters flattened in the process, and it just missed something I have seen in early Sookie Stackhouse novels. (Heart?)

If I had to point out one flaw, it's lots of telling and no showing. I read it to finish the trilogy.

For ghost story lovers, A novel with not only a great what-if but some prime twists towards it climax. (Have tissues ready.) A little plot drag in the middle but the ending gives a sense we may be in for more from Ginger and Co.

Lindberg's debut has stayed with me until the last page with its unflinching look at the aftermath of sexual abuse. Lindberg not only spares nothing in her prose but the climax soars with a quiet dignity.
