This book. How to I put it? Was intriguing and disappointing. Beautiful and infuriating. Not a one-sitter but interesting enough for me to pick it up daily. Worth it, though.
I'm putting a content rating of Mature for sex and language.
Also a TRIGGER WARNING: in/fertiliy, reproductive rights, abortion

If you haven't read this book, you should. I could leave a long review about the powerful messages and how elegantly she retells trying times. But honestly, it wouldn't do it justice. Just read it.
And if I may suggest, listen to it read by the author herself as I did.

I so badly wanted to give this book 5 stars and a rave review. But I just can't. It is a very intriguing story, written in a kind of boring way.
I will say though, reading it for yourself, with your own intonation may assist with this. I listened to it, and the narrator just didn't do it for me most of the time.
All that said, the story really is intriguing. So if you're looking for a fairly easy read with a good plot, This one is for you.

The_Meowgan I really liked this book! I wouldn‘t say I loved it or that it was a favorite, but I would definitely recommend it to friends (I actually have, lol). 3mo
HiMyNamesRysha @The_Meowgan I honestly feel like if I had read it myself I would have liked it more than I did. 3mo

This book caught my eye because it is based on a true story. I saw a lot of people didn't care for it because of a "lack of prose." But I listened to it which probably made that less noticeable. This has romance and heartbreak but does not read like your typical romance or tear jerker, the story is worth it though.

The_Meowgan I loved this book! 4mo
HiMyNamesRysha @The_Meowgan have you read either of the other 2 in the trilogy? 4mo
The_Meowgan @HiMyNamesRysha I haven‘t yet, but definitely intend to do so. 3mo

Interesting and easy-paced. No twists or turns but a fun following of Lois through her new found hobby turned business venture. Short chapters for my fellow ADHD readers. Good choice for an audio book. If you liked "Convenience Store Woman" you'll like this one, too. ?
