That one guy who wrote those books, I think.

I dig the experimental structure of the book itself, and I loved the conceptions of a kind of mathematics to describe narratives...I just felt like there wasn't much more going on than huge passages of narration with not much happening in too many places. Be aware: the title might lead you to think this is a comedy. It is not.

Ancillary Mercy | Ann Leckie

The middle 100 pages of this book read more like Jane Austen, though matters of universal importance are unfolding. Endless conversations about who is sleeping with whom. Things do eventually pick up again in the final third, only to slow down again. I'm not the first to say it, but a somewhat disappointing and small ending to a series that started off so powerful and sprawling.

Revival: A Novel | Stephen King

It sagged in the middle. I enjoyed the tale of a road gigging guitarist with issues, don't get me wrong, and a trip through King's old school playlists is a treat, but after a while you start to wonder if there's any "there" there...if there really is a plot. Like a lot of his work these days, this could have been a truly suspenseful tight 250.
So, Recommended, but just be prepared to take a leisurely stroll rather than a suspense-filled sprint.

The book faces a major problem, and it's the same problem that many projects by Damon Lindeloff face: when we as an audience are given a complex and interesting puzzle, we want to find out more about the puzzle, not spend our time getting to know characters. A character-driven novel about a super complex and interesting afterlife concept with a fascinating structure creates a problem.
Maybe get this one on Audible.
