I like books that are magical, fantastical, and romantic.

Left: a poem about being confident in your own body, beliefs, morals, and ideas. Right: a poem about rape, how the victim is blamed and made to feel it was her fault for the actions of others.

Bought this book from B&N for mainly two reasons 1. The author‘s name is Jasmin (my name is Jasmine lol) and 2. It was half off! It‘s a poetry/prose type book and the author is a woman of color which is icing on the cake.

Sleeping Beauty ahh a classic tale. But this ain‘t no retelling. No, it‘s what REALLY happened. Sure there was a ‘evil faerie‘, a dragon and a curse but, not how you remembered it. I thought this book and the movie were beautiful. If you‘re a Disney fan then you should definitely read it.

“You‘re young, you‘re Black, and you‘re on trial. What else do they need to know?” This line hurts my soul because, it‘s true. It should be “Innocent until proven guilty” but in reality it‘s “Guilty until proven innocent”. I have two little brothers 6 and 8 and it scares me sometimes if someday one of them is another Trayvon Martin.

Hmmm, I been away from this app for a few months. I ended up deleting it because, I couldn‘t get into it but, my friend convinced me to give it another shot. I finished this book ages ago. All I can say is if you love werewolves, romance, and cowboys you can‘t go wrong with this book! 😉

This “ball” looks absolutely wicked and I would love to go at least once for the sheer experience after that I would stick with the Snow Ball.

An autobiography about the importance of family, community, religion, work ethic, and education with undertones of segregation.

I started this book yesterday and just finished it now and wow! It was incredible!! It may be only 200 pages, having spelling mistakes, and the sentences are broken but, this book has important life lessons that can apply to anybody and everyone. This book was interesting in the fact that none of characters are given descriptions. So, they can be any race and your own mind can fill in the blanks of their features.

A short book I had forever that I never read because, it was a bday gift given when I didn‘t love to read yet. It has info on why October is October, the zodiac sign, family tree, famous (and some infamous) who share my birthday, events that happened on the 14th, and entertainment events that happened in October through the years.

Currently reading an autobiography. It‘s a book that I have always owned. So long that I don‘t remember where I got the book but, I kept it because, it‘s signed by the author. I want to highlight this quote about a woman, Miss Shugg, a neighbor of Clifton when he was growing up. She was a avid dog lady and her house caught on fire. The lady made sure to save everyone of her precious dogs but, was pennilessness because, she didn‘t grab her money.

I typically don‘t like short stories because, if I love it I crave a full length novel lol. I‘d only bothered with this book of short stories because, the cover drew me in. My favorites were Seeing Eye, Shake Charmer, The Slaughtered Lamb, Stone Man, Dog Boys (most favorite 😍😍😍), Stray Magic, Pearlywhite, and The Woman Who Walked with Dogs.

You Suck | Christopher Moore

You Suck was hilarious and it was an awesome sequel to its predecessor Bloodsucking Fiends!! I can‘t wait to reread the third book and finally understand the backstory. Funny story I was given Bite Me as a bday gift from my mom not knowing it was the third book in a series. Despite not knowing half the time what the hell was going on I still really enjoyed it 🤣🤣🤣.

Stephen King isn‘t my favorite author. The only book I read by him was Carrie (which I read only because I love the movie). Any who these booklets belonged to my Mom (part 2-5) as you can see by the wear and tear lol. Part 1 I ordered for Amazon because Mom couldn‘t find it. Overall I‘m loving this story and I only chose to to read it because, I watched the movie. Now to wait unto Pay Day so I can purchase part 6 through Amazon as well. 😃

gina.b.hooked I loved this series and read them as they came out, years ago. I think its definitely the least "Stephen Kingish" of any of his books. 6y
JazzyBanks @gina.b.hooked yeah it‘s not over the top gory. Definitely mild compared to Carrie lol. 6y
