What If It's Us | Becky Albertalli, Adam Silvera
post image
Pickpick

What if it‘s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera is a wonderful story about a guy named Arthur who is taking an internship at his own mother‘s law firm for the summer. It couldn‘t get any worse, he still gets lost in the streets and he misses his best friends from home; until everything changed. Arthur ran into this really cute guy at the post office, ‘Box Boy‘, and it just so seems that Box Boy is getting rid of his ex boyfriend‘s things.

Kiyomi.loose Arthur is a firm believer in the Universe, and I mean come on, a cute guy who is single and moving on just so happens to stop in at the post office at the same time as him and it‘s just a coincidence? Arthur doesn‘t think so, things happen for a reason; is the universe on their side? If you like books that are realistic fiction full of awkward romance, this is the book for you. The motif behind this story is the feeling of first love and fighting 4y
Kiyomi.loose for second chances. It‘s seen throughout this novel that Arthur and ‘Box Boy‘ aka Ben both really want this to work out and are constantly fighting for their relationship and Arthur has never felt love before but if love is real than whatever he has with Ben is definitely it. The Siren | Kiera Cass
post image
Pickpick

Within a world like ours with a small little twist... sirens are real; they exist. The humans don‘t know that, they wouldn‘t understand. The job of a siren is to feed the ocean. To bring humans to the oceans clutches, and every so often, the ocean chooses a girl from the ship wreck. These girls become sirens and they use their voice to lead the people to the bottom of the ocean. The girls held captive of the ocean wish to be normal.

Kiyomi.loose Kahlen is the oceans favourite siren, but all she wishes for is to be able to speak without murdering those that hear. Those who hear the words spoken of a siren drown themselves in the depths of the ocean. They don‘t realize they‘re doing it. Everything was fine until Kahlen met Akinli. How do you fall in love with someone who will die at the very sound of your voice? Kahlen is determined to hide from the ocean and follow her heart. 4y
Kiyomi.loose If you like books like that are fiction that takes our regular world and dabbling it with a little bit of fantasy or you have read any of Kiera Cass‘ books, you would also like this. I rate this book a 5/5 I love Kiera Cass‘ writing she does a wonderful job creating a movie in your mind. A recurring motif in this story is that there is always a way to love in in the most difficult and heartbreaking of times. 4y
MissYaremcio I also love Kiera Cass! I haven't read this one so I think I am going to have to now based on your review! Nice work! I would have liked a tad bit more of a description with the motif, but overall, nicely done! 5.5/6 4y
