Whilst the premise of street magic and murder drew me in, a simplistic writing style and half fulfilled plot points meant that the thing which held me was the central romance - which in itself was far from perfect. A quick, fun read but lacking depth.

Lots of potential: with a great cast of characters and largely well developed romance. However, an underwhelming big bad took the wind right out from under The Spirit Chaser's spooky premise.
