The Glass Castle: A Memoir | Jeannette Walls
post image
Mehso-so

The glass castle is a book about the harsh reality‘s of life and real unfortunate situations that children go through. The book is a memoir about Jeannette and her childhood going through neglect and being exposed to alcoholism, and abuse. It is a book about forgiving but not forgetting. It shows how the way you were or are raised effects the way you treat others such as how Rex and Rosemary were abused as children and now think it is ok to do it

Ryerson_y If you enjoy books that really dive into the real world problems such as alcoholism and abuse that unfortunately some children are subjected to you will like this book. Jeanette rights this book in the first person point of view this point of view helped us to really understand what she was going through and feel the emotions she had to feel. (edited) 3y

The Glass castle is a book about a girl name Jeannette growing up with her three siblings, growing up without much money and having to be moved around a lot due to her father‘s alcoholism. It is also a book about her fathers ability to capture their imagination and her mother‘s crave for excitement. So far I would give this book a 8/10.

Ryerson_y If you like books that dive into real world issues like alcoholism, mental health and poverty then this book is for you. 3y
Ryerson_y A possible theme in this book could be neglect as she is often left in dangerous situations by her parents such as her being I think only 3 or 4 not 100% sure and setting herself on fire cooking hotdogs 3y
MissYaremcio Great review Ryerson!! You did a great job identifying one of the themes in the book! 6/6 3y
