A good quick read. Not as deep or thought provoking as "The Red Tent". More like a long conversation with your grandmother.

This book was not something I would have picked up on my own. However, so many glowing reviews here in my literary paradise made me give it a shot, and I am so glad I did! Action, adventure, magic, engaging characters, a winner!
I so badly wanted to love this. The authors made me actually feel the emotions of the protagonist...... In the beginning. The last 1/3 of the book seemed rushed, like they'd run out of steam. I wish it had been as well developed as the chapters that drew me in.
I found it difficult to put this book down! While I felt the ending didn't have the same pull as the rest of the book, I loved the characters and premise of this book. Who doesn't love a dysfunctional family saga?!
Starting the summer off right! I've only just started, but this book already has me sucked in! (And it pairs well with a chilled glass of wine) :)
