I don't believe that there is one Great American Novel. I believe there are many. The Brothers K is, in my opinion, among them.

There's just something about a Jocelyn Green novel. You always know it's going to be good. A Refuge Assured is no exception. Beautifully written with fully realized characters. I highly recommend this novel.
