Alright this is also tied for my all-time favorite book.
A theological exploration of the deep meaning the cross if Jesus Christ has for our human interaction- either excluding or embracing the Other has many-layered implications. Volf is so detailed and thorough- I could not put this down or stop highlighting.

Huge fan of Percy Jackson and the Olympians- but I keep reading this second series and it never gets any better. There are too many "main" characters and Rock Riordan's writing is not suited to this length of book.

In my top three in this series- dark, serious themes, but so much fun to read all the funny school moments and the fuck details of Queen Jo's world.

Had some good moments, some thoughtful images, but not very fun to read. Granted, it's really a screenplay and I haven't seen it. The darkness utterly overwhelmed the details of the characters, and even if that was the point of the book, I didn't enjoy it.

Gorgeous.
