Read for a book club and first novel read by Celeste. I loved it! Powerful look into the things we don‘t communicate while feeling deeply empathetic to the characters involved.

Loved this. What a whirlwind read! Every chapter is such a strong scene.
Read for a book club! Emotional and humanizing look at the relationships and people the American incarceration system effects
To be fully honest, I was drawn to this book by its great cover. I then read it as part of an upcoming book club and really enjoyed its breezy (yet visual and multi-sensory) writing styles. Keiko existed in a very relatable world with real issues (how to fit in and the idea of conformity as comfort) even if she was slightly un-relatable. Overall, it was fun to read and I'm looking forward to discussing it!
