Bunny | Mona Awad

I'm now reading Bunny by Mona Awad and am almost done with it!! The story takes place in college where a girl named Samantha becomes sucked into this cultish group of girls called the Bunnies and along the way she slowly disregards her only friend Ava. I havent loved a book this much in a while since I relate to a lot of the feelings the main character feels. If you love weird and disorienting books this is for you.

Acts of Desperation | Megan Nolan

Pickpick

A book that I have identified with was Acts of Desperation by author Megan Nola. This is a non fiction book about a toxic romantic relationship. I don't necessarily relate to the plot of the story but more how the author illustrates the characters. They're shown very realistically and the book explains how emotions feel in a raw sense that makes it relatable. I identified with the female protagonist.

Bunny is a book that is horror and at the same time comedy. The author uses satire and sarcastic writing to bring a humorous light into the moments of horror in this book. It's written in the present tense by the main character(first person perspective). The author also uses a lot of repetition to familiarize the reader with jokes they can feel in sighted on too.

1984 | George Orwell

I would like to read 1984 by George Orwell because of the way Svet presented it to the class. It seemed captivating in the sense that it would make me question a lot of my own beliefs. I like books like this that make me think regularly, which is why I would read 1984.

In this book, the main character Christopher lives day by day on the Autism spectrum. When his neighbors dog named Wellington gets murdered, he is determined to figure out who committed the crime. The current antagonist of the story is Christopher's inability to understand human emotions since it makes it harder for him to figure out the killer. Christopher has an alphabetical list from A-R describing what society seems abnormal about him.

In my book, the main conflict of the story is that the two main characters Agnes and Zoe form a manipulative relationship where Zoe has to do everything Agnes tells her to do with no questioning. It escalates really fast and then becomes borderline insane. Agnes wants to be pregnant but Zoe is not ready for a child, so she tells her to acquire a parasite in order to carry a living thing. In the end, Agnes commits suicide.

I'm reading the book Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke. It is a true crime novel following two characters, Zoe Cross and Agnes Petrella. The story is written through email and text interactions. I do not like either character. as the author is a man and he is writing them to be unrealistic and unlikable. They are not relatable to most people. If the story was less rushed, I think they could be potentially likeable characters.

Lather and Nothing Else | Hernando Tellez

The moral conflict of the story is that the barber doesn't want to kill general Torres because he wants to stay noble to his job, but the general is a murderer and overall deserves to die. I think he should have killed the general- he has killed a large amount of innocent people that did not deserve death. The general had no remorse or idea that what he was doing was wrong, therefore if he stayed alive many more peoples lives would be in jeopardy

Kitchen is a short novel about a girl named Mikage Sakurai living in pre present Japan who has just lost her grandmother(the last of all her relatives). Mikage is left alone once she dies. A friend of her grandmothers ,Yuichi, reaches out and offers for her to live with him and his mother Eriko who is transgender. Mikage quickly becomes close to them. I like this book a lot so far because of its pace and the author's descriptive writing style.8/10
