so-soAuthor Ethan Kross, PhD, is the director of the Emotion & Self Control Laboratory at the University of Michigan, so I was expecting a lot. I think this is your typical Pop Science, common sense type of book, which I'd hesitantly recommend to interested readers. Occasionally Kross discussed unique science based tips (like when mindfulness is a bad idea) but overall this probably would have made a better magazine article or TED Talk.
My reading was too erratic to choose a favorite book for each month, so here's my #BestandWorstof2025 wrap-up. Another winner by Ruta Sepetys whose writing consistently gets a 4+ star rating from me.

About me: I volunteer at an animal shelter and only work part-time. My reading preferences vary depending on my interests or mood but I often seek out nonfiction, classics, fantasy or HF books. I also enjoy music and hiking.
