Finished this en route to Detroit today. It's a fascinating and brutally honest account of trying to rehab a house bought right before the city declared bankruptcy. Haimerl's voice is genuine, especially when she talks about her pre-D life. She confronts difficult topics with compassion & wisdom.

Ten years of CCD and I never knew what it stood for until today. Smh.
In other news, 14 pages into this book and I'm already learning new things!

Down to the last 150 pages. Never been more pleased to have a fluffy reading buddy.

IT WOULD HURT LESS TO BE PUNCHED IN THE NOSE OK this book is ruining me

I fully intended to write a serious and meaningful blurb but then I found the stickers. Anyways, this book has entranced me and all I want to do is read it nonstop. I liked her first novel but I LOVE this one.

Well done! I'm not sure if it was supposed to be funny but it was?? Richly written and impossible to put down.
