As an Indiana native growing up in the 80s and 90s I didn‘t have a great grasp of what the CART split really meant. I love racing and I loved going to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but so much more makes sense now after reading this. If you love IndyCar, the Brickyard, or are from Indiana you should read this.

This was a fantastic read. As a convert to Ford during the Mulally era, it was a very well written and in depth look at how bad it really was at the Blue Oval.

I actually liked Joe Buck before reading this, but I like him even more now. He‘s very open, honest, and self deprecating. It is also kind of funny to say that I was one of the people on Waveland Ave for the “Steve Bartman game” in 2003, so I will be telling my family and friends that I am indirectly mentioned in the book. 😅

If you‘re an experienced podcaster, skim it. There‘s still a lot of good information, but there are some basic concepts you can skip through.

I‘ve been so disappointed lately with my book choices lately, maybe it‘s just my expectations are too high.

A lot of “duh” moments in here, but an entertaining story and a lot of good lessons learned by someone who has experienced the highs and lows of business.
