This latest by Tana French does not disappoint. Sifting through evidence through the eyes of Antoinette Conway allowed me to unravel two mysteries at the same time. A wonderful beginning of the summer read.
She could have made the trees bow to her if she wished it, could have changed the direction of rivers and snatched birds out of the sky. People feared her, toward the end. A girl who could talk to nature and make the land welcome was sweet, useful. A woman with these powers, bold and fearless and unbowed by anything, was something else.
