This was a tough one, but such an important topic, and so well written. Listening to the author talk briefly about her experiences with the topic made it that much better for me. I‘m looking forward to the Netflix adaptation!

“You can‘t keep the birds of sadness from flying over your head, but you can keep them from nesting in your hair.”
“You have been good for me. What more could anyone ask for? I‘m a better person than I was before we got together. That‘s your doing.”
I loved this book so much. It had so much emotion in it and such a great portrayal of love. I can‘t believe I didn‘t read it sooner.
I‘ve read a lot of mixed reviews about this book, and for awhile I agreed with some of the negative ones. However, as I got closer to the end I found myself appreciating the characters and feeling like it was relatable if somewhat exaggerated in the things we leave unsaid and the assumptions we make especially with people we love.
I don‘t think I have ever read a book with so many twists and turns at the end. I was so glad that it didn‘t end how I initially thought it would. What a fun ride!
I LOVED this book! I already liked Tan from the show, but it was so fun to hear his story, especially the bits where he talks about his husband. I also enjoyed hearing the reasons he loves Salt Lake City since a great up a few cities away.
“Ultimately, saying that you don‘t care about privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different from saying you don‘t care about freedom of speech because you have nothing to say.”
Wow, I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would and what an act of bravery. His writing style made me feel like I was there experiencing the things he experienced.
It took me a minute to get into this one, but once I did I was hooked. I enjoyed the twists and turns and the way the story came together in the end.
This book seemed to be a little repetitive to me and took longer than necessary to cover the time frame that was covered, that being said, I still plan to read on in the series and was intrigued enough to want to know the outcome.
