Listened to this in audiobook format and loved it! Especially the chapters about his family. Read by the author, full of humor and wit, this made my work commutes so much more enjoyable.

Unsettling in the best way. This book is dark, creepy and amazingly well-written. Every member of this family has major secrets and honest communication is a rare occurrence. The every-other, unreliable narrators style makes it impossible to know the whole truth.l until the very end. Left me uneasy.

The Mountain Story was my favorite book of 2015. It's a story of survival in every sense of the word. Immediately compelling, once I started I couldn't put it down. This book stayed with me for a long time after I finished reading it. Loss, regret, resiliency, love, family. All explored beautifully.
