Joseph Clampitt wrote a book of what I have only dreamed of doing. Going back to biblical times and talking with disciples. It was an inspirational book.

Clampitt talks to Paul in Ephesus. Taking a journey back 2000 years to learn why he can't hear what God says. I truly enjoyed it. I can't wait to get to heaven bc there's so many things in the Bible I want to discuss with the Disciples, Moses, Noah, David, and so many more.

Monica5 ⬆️ What a glorious day that will be.

I highly recommend 'The Presence of Jesus' if you are struggling with any part of your relationship with God. So, so good.

😊Happy Reading 😊

P.J. Tracy's 'City of Secrets' is the fourth book in the Detective Maggie Norton Seeies. P.J. Tracy is the pseudonym for Traci Lambrecht, and she started these books with her mom.

Maggie and Al are called to crime scene, which end up being the killing of a CEO of Peppy Pet. He is in the part of town he has no reason to be. Sam Easton is asked by his mom to check on a friend whose wife has been kidnapped. Soon, these two crimes ⬇️

Monica5 become entangled in a mess of other things. Just how big will this case become?

There's a lot going on in 'City of Secrets '. Tracy ties it all up nicely. I was intrigued from the beginning. Maggie and Remy's relationship development is notched up a bit. Sam continues to battle demons but may have a new job on the horizon. His relationship with Melidy takes a step forward. Tracy is developing all the characters, not just the main ones, that gives great depth to the book.

Wonderful cozy mystery! Ella Duke started the Dixie French Mystery Series off great. I fell in love with all the main characters in 'Something Dead the Cat Dragged In ', especially Dixie.

Dixie takes a vacation to Loblolly, S.C. to work on writing a book. She meets her landlord at a coffee shop, while there a guy drops dead. She's soon involved in a murder investigation, even though the deputy tells her to stay out of it. ⬇️

I won this from a Goodreads Giveaway

I found this to be a cute, cozy mystery. It was a little slow for me, but it picked up toward the end. I was half right about who was involved. It's the first in a new series. Even though this one was slow to me, I will read the next one. I enjoyed learning about Meave and Chiquita. McBride had good character development with Meave. Low pick. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

4.5🌟

Penrose's historical mystery is set in the 1810s. Wrexford and Charlotte are involved in the mysterious death of Jasper Milton.

I could tell that Penrose spent time researching this book. I enjoy reading a historical novel that I end up learning things from. I got a kick out of the Weasels. I could just imagine them getting into mischief. Penrose developed them in a way that showed their youthfulness ⬇️

Finding Me: A Memoir | Viola Davis

Holy Moly! To say Viola Davis had a hard life growing up is such an understatement! From poverty, sexual abuse, and growing up with an alcoholic father, which I know personally is very hard, bullying and being ashamed to becoming a wonderful actress, she overcame a lot. Very few times did I laugh when listening to this memoir. That was when she talked about her mom protecting them from Bull Frogs Eyes kids. Most of the time, I was stunned or ⬇️

Monica5 had tears in my eyes. I saw myself, other than the famous and being a star or being black, in her story. It is very moving and powerful. She finally came to love herself and accept herself when she got the role of Annalease Lee on 'How To Get Away With Murder'. Highly recommend if you enjoy memoirs.

😊Happy Reading 😊

I'm not a gamer, but I enjoyed 'Red Dead's History'' . Olsson wrote in a way that kept me intrigued. I ended up being interested in how close this game actually was to American history. The game is set in 1899 in the West, the South and Applician. Red Dead looks at the cowboy life, the Buffalo, as well as other stuff in the West. The South deals with the Civil War, slavery, and sufferagist, and cotton. While Applician comes in as the ⬇️

I listened to this, and it was a hard book to listen to.
Lanah Sawyer is 17 years old in 1793, when her life is changed forever by rape. The sad thing, I realized while listening to this, is that very little has changed in 233 years since Sawyer pressed charges against her rapist. For some reason, society still ridicules a woman because of rape instead of the man. Sawyer reported and pressed charges being the first woman in America ⬇️

Monica5 to do so. I can guarantee that there were 100's of rapes before Sawyers. There are still.100's of rapes that go unreported today. #audio #nonfiction #bookspinbingo #readaway2024 3w

Not your typical WWII history book, Jones wrote on the life of Ben Kuroki. Ben grew up in Nebraska, a Nissi, and joined the Army Air Forces. He fought his way to become the only Japanese American gunner to fly 58 missions in Europe and the Pacific.

A captivating book about someone who did all he could to show his patriotism. Kuroki never had a problem growing up in Hershey, Nebraska, until Pearl Harbor. I could tell while reading this ⬇️

Monica5 book that Jones researched it well. It went into detail about the missions Kuroki flew, his life after the war, and most importantly, about the racism he faced in the Army Air Forces.

If you enjoy reading WWII history, I recommend 'Most Honorable Son' to you. I think you would enjoy it.

I read the true crime genre to try to understand why people do what they do. I like my true crime to focus on the victims, and the investigation and then the perpetrator, finally the trial. In 'A Hunger to Kill' , Mager wrote in a totally different way that I have never seen with True Crime. We know at once who the perpetrator is, and then what he has done comes out in her interviews with him. It didn't work for me. ⬇️

Monica5

Mager wrote a lot about herself. It was more like a memoir with a true crime thrown in. I feel that the memoir parts of the book just seemed to bog it down. I feel the way she grew up was not a vital part of the book. She came across as a caring person, I just didn't like that part of the book.

Other readers seemed to enjoy the book, so if you enjoy the True Crime Genre, you may enjoy the book. That's the great thing about books, two people can read the exact same book and get something different from it.

I was excited to read this book for a few reasons: I love to learn new things, it was about women at the turn of the century and because it was about archeology, which I have always found fascinating.

Women in the Valley of Kings is well researched and when reading it, I could see how the topic was loved by Sheppard. Sheppard was able to transport me to the late 1800's and early 1900's Egypt and the discoveries that were made. I found it ⬇️

Monica5 fascinating how they copied some of the wall paintings. Even how they were able to take so much from the tombs with really not a whole lot of trouble.

Though the book is well researched, I have to say at times it felt like a textbook. So much information was crammed into it. The flow of the book wasn't very good to me, either. I don't know if I am the only one that felt that way or not. I think if Sheppard would have had a chapter for each woman it would have been better. She combined some women together, but that may have been because they worked at sites together. Overall, my enjoyment outweighed my bad feelings, so I am giving it 3⭐.
