Just finished this one. It was chockablock of good stuff.
These books will be distracting me today.
Home from work today. I‘m having an allergic reaction to something my mum made. She accidentally put nuts into something that I ate. So I‘m out of commission. The first “big” storm of the season is upon us and I get to watch.
It‘s not the mentioned book, but it is by the same author. Disclaimer, it was written by the brother of a good friend and I was asked to review it.
I enjoyed this one. It even referred to Mrs. Beaton‘s book. Here is the link to my gr review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5039689564
I found this at the local Catholic Parish, St. James, when I went to a church jumble sale. Here is the link to my gr review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5048927733?book_show_action=false&from_rev...
This past week was supposed to be my brief holiday from work to relax. Alas other things were is store for me. I got bitten by a brown recluse spider. I also had a dental extraction planned at the last minute. In between those events I made it to a book show, a few religious book stores, and some charity shops. The most amazing score was “The Bible in 52 Weeks”. I found that a Five Below. So if anyone who joined us in the #Biblebuddyread
Stuck at home with a fever and a bad headache. And the super fun part I‘m having an allergic reaction to something I had on Sunday and yesterday. If you are super sensitive to anything skip out on anything pumpkin spice that is edible. Somewhere along the line it got cross contaminated with something. The end result ended up on my hands and face. No I‘m not going to share.
This is a good faith based introduction to land stewardship. Hopefully this will start a conversation in faith communities as to what we can all do to make the planet healthy again.
Stayed in from work again today. Still feeling miserable from last week‘s surgery. I have my gran‘s Bible from 1950‘s to keep me company. It is much loved and much used.
I‘m home from work today due to health related issues. My body is starting to feel the effects from my cancer surgery. I‘ll be glad when things heal. I finished the mentioned book off yesterday and here is my gr review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4516341372
I didn‘t give this one a goodreads star rating. But, it was a hoot none the less. Here is the link to my gr review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4944661919
Pardon the grossnesses. This is one of my three incision sites from today. I have to wait for a few days to wash of the betadine. I‘ve got my anti nausea tag on for awhile still. And working my way through the after effects of the anesthesia. Thank Bob for spell checker.
This already has me cracking up.
I sat outside and finished this one. Here is the link to my gr review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/193110842?book_show_action=false&from_revi...
I spent a big part of today sitting under a crabapple tree reading this one.
Be prepared if you chose this book, the beginning of it might turn you off. But see it through to the end if you can. Here is the link to my gr review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4358706526?book_show_action=false&from_rev...
From what I have read so far this book is full of rage. I‘ll finish it out and see if that changes.
In between the post-op side effects, which suck, I was able to sit outside for a while and finish this book. Here is the link to my gr review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4326330038?book_show_action=false&from_rev...
@shawnmooney if you haven‘t read this one yet, go find a copy.
Home sick again today to complications from Monday. And not feeling guilty about missing work. I‘m going to try and finish this book today. And I‘ve got my late uncle‘s schnauzer collection to keep me company.
It took me a couple of years to get to this one, but it was well worth the wait. Here is the link to my gr review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4726090715
I‘m home recovering from surgery and got this bad news which pertains to everyone. If you can, in late fall please plant some milkweed. Some of the species take well over 300 days to germinate.
In the monarch way station where I work so far I have only seen around five adults and two larvae. So it‘s time to ramp up our conservation and education about pollinators even more.
Long story short, no pollinators no food.
