Home from work today. I‘m having an allergic reaction to something my mum made. She accidentally put nuts into something that I ate. So I‘m out of commission. The first “big” storm of the season is upon us and I get to watch.

BookBabe Sorry you got an allergic reaction, but yay for watching the snow! For some reason it usually likes to snow in the overnight here, so on the rare occasion it snows during the daytime when I can actually enjoy watching it, I try to do just that! 1w

Due to crazy life circumstances it took me over a year to finish it. Every year it is full of interesting and off-kilter things. Such as it can take 400+ days for parsnips to grow. I‘m looking forward to what‘s in the 2023 edition.

This past week was supposed to be my brief holiday from work to relax. Alas other things were is store for me. I got bitten by a brown recluse spider. I also had a dental extraction planned at the last minute. In between those events I made it to a book show, a few religious book stores, and some charity shops. The most amazing score was “The Bible in 52 Weeks”. I found that a Five Below. So if anyone who joined us in the #Biblebuddyread

Stuck at home with a fever and a bad headache. And the super fun part I‘m having an allergic reaction to something I had on Sunday and yesterday. If you are super sensitive to anything skip out on anything pumpkin spice that is edible. Somewhere along the line it got cross contaminated with something. The end result ended up on my hands and face. No I‘m not going to share.

I‘m home recovering from surgery and got this bad news which pertains to everyone. If you can, in late fall please plant some milkweed. Some of the species take well over 300 days to germinate.

In the monarch way station where I work so far I have only seen around five adults and two larvae. So it‘s time to ramp up our conservation and education about pollinators even more.

Long story short, no pollinators no food.

SamAnne I plant milkweed but have no monarchs. But I do have yellow swallowtails, fritillaries, and others. Although we have so fewer pollinators around this year. 4mo
Chelsea.Poole 💔 4mo
Chelsea.Poole Devastating. This is the first year my milkweed has bloomed. We haven‘t had monarchs yet either @SamAnne I‘m worried the human devastation will be too great to come back from for many species. (edited) 4mo
quirkyreader @SamAnne and @Chelsea.Poole As you know when the milkweed blooms is looks and smells beautiful. Share as much of the seed that you can. The more we spread, the more we can help the population. 4mo
tpixie I saw one butterfly on my tree on Sunday- in Hutchinson Kansas. My husband has been planting Kansas native grasses in our yard . I‘ll ask him to sneak in milkweed also 4mo
