The Chocolate Heart
The Chocolate Heart | Laura Florand
1 post | 7 read | 1 to read
No one hates Paris, except Summer Corey. Things go from bad to worse when Summer stumbles into brooding, gorgeous chef Luc Leroi and indecently propositions the hero of French cuisine. Luc has scrambled up from a childhood panhandling to become the king of his city, and he has no patience for this spoiled princess, even if she does now own his restaurant.

Brunch is always better with a book. I love Turkish eggs. They have nothing to do with Laura Florand other than I consumed them at the same time. 😊 I've had Laura Florand on my to-try list for a while, and I picked up this used copy of The Chocolate Heart at Powell's just before I went to my first ever Romantic Times Convention this year. You know you're a book addict when you buy books BEFORE a book convention. 😂 #bookandbrunch #romantsy

Chachic Your brunch looks so good, I'm jealous! And yay for trying Laura Florand.💖 This isn't one of my favorites of hers but I hope it encourages you to read more of her stuff. 7y
BookThingo @Chachic The beginning isn't grabbing me tbh. What title would you recommend? 7y
Chachic For your first Laura Florand? I would have recommended The Chocolate Thief or The Chocolate Kiss from her Amour et Chocolat series, although I know @minavesguerra is a fan of The Chocolate Temptation. And you can start with Once Upon a Rose for her La vie en Roses series. 7y

BookThingo @Chachic Noted! Thank you! :) 7y
Chachic Looking forward to hearing what you think of her writing! After this, Ilona Andrews naman hahaha. 7y
minavesguerra I think you need to read Thief/Kiss/Heart first before Temptation! Because Patrick's younger than the rest and I feel is outlier story :) @Chachic 7y
BookThingo @minavesguerra I might have to do that. I'm feeling too lazy to read on after the first scene. 😬 7y
MrBook That's what @BookBabe & I do too 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻!!!! And she would loooove to try those eggs! How is the Turkish eggs-style different from others? 7y
BookThingo @MrBook The poached eggs are swimming in yoghurt and spices. This one also had chorizo and a tiny bit of goats cheese, which made it perfect for brunch. The first time I tried it, the texture felt a little strange, but now I order it whenever it's on the menu! 7y
MrBook @BookThingo Yep, that's right up @BookBabe 's alley 😁👏🏻! How do you think it would pair with feta? She loves feta. 7y
BookThingo @MrBook I love feta too, and if I were making this, that's what I'd use. 😄 @BookBabe 7y
MrBook @BookThingo Oh, she'll be over the moon when she hears about this 😁👍🏻! 7y
