3 posts | 27 read | 2 to read
Ghouls live among us, the same as normal people in every way-except their craving for human flesh. Ken Kaneki is an ordinary college student until a violent encounter turns him into the first half-human half-ghoul hybrid. Trapped between two worlds, he must survive Ghoul turf wars, learn more about Ghoul society and master his new powers. The newly awakened Kaneki unleashes his monstrous strength to protect his friend Touka and finds himself irrevocably changed. Kaneki sets out on his own, determined to find out the truth behind what s happening to him and what the Aogiri Tree organization actually is."

This has one of the most intense battle scenes I've ever read. There was so much going on, but the author did an excellent job of making it easy for the reader to follow all the action.

Other volumes have been dark, but this one goes even deeper as the Ghouls, the CCG, and the Aogri Tree all fight for power and control.

In this one, we learn more about Touka's past as well as her younger brother, Ayato. We also get to see the newly developed Kaneki in action.
