I read this at the recommendation of Kelly Justice from @FountainBookstore and it was just as informative and delightful as I expected. This is not only a great introduction to graphic design for people of all ages, Chip Kidd‘s playful and interactive presentation makes graphic design feel fun and less intimidating. I highly recommend it to anyone who finds themselves appreciating a font or putting together an ad or presentation for work.

Rereading this classic on design theory in preparation for a talk I'm giving in Memphis next week. Everyone could use a basic course in design, especially if you own your own business or are a public figure on any scale. This book is written for kids and an be finished in about an hour and is a perfect way to learn a bit about "brand", typography, design philosophy , color theory, and so much more. It's beautiful and fun!

FountainBookstore Oh. Who is Chip Kidd? He has designed over 1000 book covers including the iconic Jurassic Park, all of Murakami's recent work. He pretty much invented the horizontal band treatment of covers. He is also a author and illustrator. 7y
