I‘ve been setting my alarm so as to be ready for when some talented Aussie artists art works go live (and often sell out within 3 minutes) - it‘s a stressful process - but kind of exhilarating! I was recently super lucky and managed to snag two Shelby Sherritt Art 🐨 pots! One for me and one a late birthday present!

It‘s almost getting to the time of year when I wouldn‘t mind a Bubble O‘Bill icecream!

Don‘t call me bear is a cute book that also corrects the misconception that koalas are bears. This is a book that I really enjoyed. This is a fictional read aloud. I think my future students would not only enjoy it but learn a lot about koalas and marsupials.

Alexush The ESOL strategy I picked is 29 where I will provide other materials that will reference koalas. The UDL strategy I chose was 6.3 where I will facilitate and manage information and resources. There are cute lessons on https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Worksheets-for-DONT-CALL-ME-BEAR-Aar... to go along with this book. 5y
DrSpalding Creative photo. Good resource however consider going straight to the publishers website before just searching using the title. 5y

Don‘t Call Me Bear! by Aaron Blabey is an entertaining educational book your elementary classroom library should definitely have. It teaches children marsupials in an incredibly amusing way your students will most certainly enjoy. This F book is sure to make your students remember to never call a koala, a bear. Using this book for a RT would be a perfect choice, it would make for a class your students will never forget. #UCFLAE3414F19

karlasanabria1 The following lesson plan will give you themes, discussion points, and activities for you to do with your students and help inspire you create you Don‘t Call Me Bear lesson plan. http://www.lamontbooks.com.au/media/69316/august-2016-ps-dont-call-me-bear.pdf 5y
karlasanabria1 For this specific book the UDL Guideline I‘d utilize would be to activate or supply background knowledge (3.1); I‘d talk to them about concepts like the animal kingdom, marsupials, Australian animals, etc. so they can understand and enjoy the book better. As for the ESOL Strategy I believe would work best with this book, I‘ve chosen teaching to two objectives, language and content (12). 5y
Shannyblake Karla I love the sound of this book! You did a great job providing your UDL and EL guideline. I am going to check it ou 5y

thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Lizpixie @Michelle_mck - possibly drop bears are just koalas who have been called bears one too many times... 8y
Lizpixie Possibly, the rage sends them feral and before you know it they're dropping out of trees and gnawing on harmless backpackers👹 8y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Lizpixie, only the ones foolish enough not to smear Vegemite behind their ears... 8y
