RadicalReader @readinginthedark love the description of this book amazing how books can literally be about anything as well as the most interesting book you‘ve ever read 7y
readinginthedark @RadicalReader Absolutely! This book really felt special to me. The author constantly second guesses himself and has all of these little, seemingly meaningless moments with his daughters, reminding himself that he‘s older than he feels...and he shows how it‘s all worth it. You know, living the life you want even when it‘s hard and raising children even when they‘re crazy. It‘s just really fun and beautiful. 7y
RadicalReader @readinginthedark anything involving parents and children instantly makes me think of the song Cats in the Cradle about this father who doesn‘t understand the significance of being a part and playing a role in their children‘s lives but when he tells them he‘s too busy to spend time with them that when he wants to spend time with them they‘re unable to 7y
readinginthedark @RadicalReader Oh right, I‘m familiar with that song! I‘ve gotten that same vibe reading some books. Not as much this one, because the father is around a lot, but some memoirs and fiction (especially books from the child‘s point-of-view). 7y

This book is, for lack of a better word, cute. Bussola gives us some of his journal entries about life raising three young daughters. However, this differs from most parenting memoirs in one huge way: everything is pretty much perfect. His kids never really misbehave or have to be punished. He's basically super-dad, and to hear him describe it, he does absolutely everything while his wife spends the entire book travelling or sleeping.

readinginthedark How interesting, I read this in a completely different way. I saw so many little mishaps and mistakes and the author always doubting himself. It‘s funny how we all get such different things from the same book! 7y

Such a sweet collection of stories. It made me believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to write a book. It read similar to reading someone's diary or journal and could be a great gift for Father's Day.

April was an alright month reading for me. Everything was pretty good but only one was a new favorite. And I'm behind on reviews; be expecting more soon. Hopefully, I won't be so distracted by this house business before long!

Every story, journal entry, letter, & musing that Matteo included in this endearing compilation comes directly from his experience as a father. The tender love he feels for his children is clear as crystal. Through every detail I could sense his incredible awe & utter captivation. He lives & breathes to be a father, & the evidence he's chosen to share w/his readers is simply beautiful. It's also thought-provoking & at times very very funny. 💗

Haven't been around much cause have been in a bit of a reading slump. My one annually. LoL I've been reading just not plowing through things like I usually do. Started this book last night though, and I'm quite enjoying it. 🙃

My view isn't super exciting or beautiful this morning, but at least I'm getting some reading in while my son's in art class!

I don't know many people who aren't fans of spring, but Bussola makes a strong case for winter. ❤️🌨☕️

I'm reading this so fast (for me), you guys! Halfway through in one sitting. (It's also not super long. But still.) Parenting genius!
