Mercy O'Connor is becoming an angel. She can feel her wings sprouting from her shoulder blades. They itch. Sometimes she even hears them rustling. And angels don't need to eat. So Mercy has decided she doesn't need to either. She is not sick, doesn't suffer from anorexia, is not trying to kill herself. She is an angel, and angels simply don't need food. When her parents send her to an eating disorder clinic, Mercy is scared and confused. She isn't like the other girls who are so obviously sick. If people could just see her wings, they would know. But her wings don't come and Mercy begins to have doubts. What if she isn't really an angel? What if she's just a girl? What if she is killing herself? Can she stop?

Mehso-so

The book that was supposed to be my last read of 2016 has turned into my first read of 2017! I just didn't finish it in time because all I have been doing with my life is listening to the My Favorite Murder podcast. It's taken over me. However, I finished this one tonight to jump start 2017! This YA book was both fucked up and beautiful. A girl who seems to have an eating disorder tells everyone she's simply turning into an angel. The (contd. 👇🏻

Josie The ending threw me off because it didn't feel believable. I wanted the main character to have an ending that I could believe in and root for and I didn't get that. Overall, not a bad book at all. One day I will read again and share all my favorite quotes with you. There were a lot of them! 7y

So, I just checked my Goodreads to see how many books I have read this year. Hex brought me to 89. The year before, I read 39. All of 2016, I vowed to end the year on an even number because something inside me needs even numbers. So, what am I to do with two days left in the year? Find the shortest book on my shelf and vow to finish it by tomorrow night. I've owned this one forever. My dog got ahold of it when he was a puppy. Poor book.

Suzze I've got vinyl record album covers that look like that from my puppy, Hendrix, in the early 70's. 7y
LeahBergen Gah! I know! I'm at 79 now and I want to find another short read. 😂 7y
