My father had beautiful rose bushes. That gene missed me. I did plant vegetables one year when I was much younger. Radishes, lettuce, cantelopes, pumpkins, beans. It was great! Never did it again. I‘m Thinking of maybe buying a tomato plant to grow in a pot on my porch.

I realized today I‘d posted this on my TikTok (if you‘re not there, I‘m suzzereadsalot, and BookTok is a blast. Anyway, my BOTM showed up, um….not in great shape. Replacement on the way.
There are so many I want to read!
The Lesbiana‘s Guide to Catholic School
The Sisters Sputnik
are a couple….and the one pictured, A Rip Through Time.
No music. Unless I‘m outside and it‘s provided by the birds.
#Two4Tuesday
Doesn‘t come out until August, but it was calling me. Great thriller with an unreliable narrator. When Liv falls asleep she loses memories of the last two years. And things have happened! I own two of her other books, The Escape Room and Night Swim. They are both moving up on my TBR!
Aimee, a non-binary Anishinaabe child is on a school field trip to offer gifts to the water spirits. She meets a rabbit and ends up in an alternate dimension with traditional Anishinaabe figures. Love native stories.
1. An arc of Lily‘s Promise by Lily Elbert. This amazing 98 year old and her accounting of life through the Holocaust.
Maniac: The Bath School Disaster. 38 children and six adults killed in 1927.
Just Like Mother by Anne Heltzel. Comes out in May.
2. Podcasts. I just listened to the whole season of The Thing About Pam.
3. I think I‘ve only listened to one audio book! I‘m a Stranger Here Myself by Bill Bryson.

Time hopping sci-fi. Very enjoyable. Comes out TUESDAY!
My March reads! The Violin Conspiracy was my favorite! Nour‘s Secret Library is a picture book. Locke & Key is a graphic novel. The Reading List was for book group. The other three were all advance copies.
One of my favorites set in Iowa recounts the life of Dewey Readmore Books, the cat in residence at the Spencer Public Library in Spencer, Iowa. I read it when it came out in 2008, hard to believe it was over 13 years ago! #roadtripusa2022
February Reads!
1660‘s Boston seems like a fun time. 😳 Painting is Mary Dyer, convicted witch.
I liked the book, Chris Bohjalian is one of my go-to authors.
1. Definitely back. My dream would be to go back to the mid 1600‘s in Quebec to meet my ancestors. But I‘d have to learn French too.
2. I just read Sea of Tranquility, the new Emily St. John Mandel, out April 5. There is time travel involved. And it‘s great.
January reads! Giant Days, Vol. 4. 3⭐️, Wink, middle grade book, a middle school boy with a tumor. Excellent. , Verity, NOPE, Blue-Skinned Gods, can‘t say enough good things. ,Sea of Tranquility, loved it. I think it‘s better than Station Eleven. 4/5, Mickey7. Sci+fi with humor. I really liked it! (2/15), Chef‘s Kiss cute graphic novel. , Powwow Day and Lost Library, picture books. Both ok. Continued in comments.
Current read. 😀
Loving my current reads!
Blue-Skinned Gods ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I‘ve had this book for ages! Really need to get to it.
@rachelsbrittain
1. Only if it‘s all I have with me.
2. I like reading on my iPad. I use the Bluefire app to read Advance copies from Edelweiss. I like it because it tells me next to each title how many days I have left to read it.
I haven‘t read science fiction in years and this was so much fun! Mickey7 is an Expendable on a colonizing mission. His job is to do the dangerous stuff. If he dies doing it, they just generate a new one.
In this book, we get a good story along with a thoughtful treatise on immortality. Is a new Mickey the same as the old Mickey.
Read it! It‘s good. Release date: Feb. 15
1. The Alex McKnight mystery series by Steve Hamilton
2. Tahquamenon Falls
Pictured Rocks
Mackinac Island
@megnews
I don‘t exactly know how I feel about this book. It was a fairly light, quick read, and I enjoyed it, but I felt the present day character‘s backstory was there without a good reason. I gave it 3⭐️
This book was SO GOOD! 5⭐️ for sure. My 2nd book of the year.
I adore snow!! When I snows I sit and watch it come down. Fascinating.
As for a favorite winter activity? Reading in a comfy chair watching it snow, of course.
Climate change is really putting a damper on snow in SE Michigan. As a kid we got lots, now we seem to get so much less!
These are the books that entered the public domain on Jan. 1. Personally I‘m hoping for an amazing leather bound copy of Winnie the Pooh, to go with my copy I still have from Christmas 1957.
I have the worst memory! I hit an online book sale in July. When the box came I pushed it into a corner unopened. Guess what? I just opened it! Glad I hadn‘t bought any of these again in the meantime.
4⭐️ Jess goes to Paris to visit her brother and finds him missing. What is happening in this apartment building? Lots of twists as Lucy Foley usually does. Release date 2/22/22.
My favorite thing to do? Watch out the window while it snows. I‘m pretty much an indoors lady.
As a former children‘s bookseller, I sold so many of these every winter. I so love this book.
I‘m grateful for blankets. I‘m addicted to blankets and throws. And, since I‘m always cold, I almost always have one on my lap.

And I haven‘t even opened the box of Target B2G1. The top book was the winner and the next two finalists for the 2021 Canada Reads. (I‘m not from Canada) Delphine is a middle grade fantasy. Professional Troublemaker is the March pick for the Fantastic Strangelings Book Club. This is Chance is about a female reporter that covered the 1964 9.0 earthquake in Anchorage.
C.R. The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix.
So excited to get an advance copy of her new book!!!
I‘m really bad at this. My picture is on top of another picture. And the whole thing is crooked. 🤷🏻♀️
1. This LEGO kit!
2. One of too many I‘m currently reading.
3. Does eating too much count?
4. In order. Milk, dark, white.
@4thhouseontheleft @howjessreads
If you read The One and Only Ivan, you‘ll remember Bob, the dog! Currently reading. Comes out May 5.
I am a big fan of Mo Willems, and see he is doing doodle classes during the isolation. My 8 year old next door neighbor sent this to him tonight. I love it!
1. I‘m practically a hermit, so not much.
2. I have enough for a couple of months. I always order ahead.
3. Ignore it?
4. The Address Book by Deirdre Mask. It comes out next month.
5. I know I watched a movie in the last month. I have no recollection of what it was!
Received this month‘s Fantastic Strangelings book club choice. Ginny is excited. 😀
I haven‘t posted in ages! I‘ve been reading a bit more. In fact I‘m reading two books right now. Hope to jump in here more often. Hi everyone! Here‘s one of the books I‘m reading....
