I couldn't find this title in the Litsy database, so I'm using another book on a similar topic by the same photographer. I Am The Beggar Of The World is a book of translated landays from contemporary Afghanistan. Poetry is not something I'm knowledgeable about, but I found Eliza Griswold's translations and the context stories she provided fascinating. It's like a freestyle rap tradition thousands of years old. #ReadHarder2017
EllieDottie I ordered this same one for the read harder challenge!! I'm glad to hear it was good! 8y
AmandaL @EllieDottie I can't wait to hear what you think about it! 8y
Handmade_Redhead @EllieDottie did you pick it for the poetry in translation, not about love? I'm still looking for a good book for that. 8y
AmandaL @Handmade_Redhead This was my pick for the poetry in translation, not about love. Even though there was a section about love, it was more about Afghan women's use of landays as their only means of expression. 8y
Handmade_Redhead @AmandaL thank you. I'm going to have to check this out 8y
