I read this with my 5 and 7 year old daughters last night. It was super cute! I had told them we only had time for a couple of chapters, but I had to keep reading and find out more about the crocodile's shenanigans!

Busy, noisy, slightly chaotic family Easter celebration today, including an extensive Easter egg hunt and lots of chocolate. Wow, the children were on a major sugar high. As well as all that chocolate they also received some super cool PJs and some lovely books. Now I'm ready for a quiet evening to recover.
I think I love this book? I really really wasn't expecting to.
I'm also really hoping someone writes a very long essay about what it tells us about gender and performativity.
I acknowledge that Brian Floca has a great technical-historical art style (Moonshot, Locomotive, etc.), but I kind of only want him to do funny books now.
Early chapter book, interesting trim size, probably a good readaloud.
In this book the castle's old prison/dungeon has been turned into a gym. How fitting.
