I've posted a couple of times about this one. I ended up finding its account of pre/ post Soviet ruptures very affecting.

It's taken me a long time to appreciate this book (possibly because I tend to spread readings over years). I realized, however, that the courtyard of the Soviet-style apartment complex is itself a character with a unique beauty: something I can appreciate through some similar childhood memories
And this is what my date was.
When I was cashing out at the bookshop I got charged wrong and I said something to the cashier, but he said that he did it correct. So when I was in my vehicle I read added everything. I went back inside and apologized for being nit-picky and I said that I was charged wrong. The new cashier was a bit on the rude side. I don‘t know if she was having a bad day or what. So this has turned me off for that bookshop.
