I'm not normally a short story fan but on rare occasions, I enjoy them. I read Parrish's previous collection and so far this promises to be just like those gems.

Parrish sure knows how to write about 1) being human and 2) dealing with other human beings. Many of the stories in this collection are just slices of life, but they're powerful. Some are more like fables, in others you'll taste magical realism. The social commentary (especially the two stories alluding to reproductive rights and BLM) is all too relevant today. I thoroughly enjoyed this book; it encouraged me to slow down and savor each story.
A short story collection written by a well published female writer that knows how to craft a story that is both full of imagination and reality.
