When she loses her job in the city, Jessie Henderson realizes there's never been a better time to pack up and move to the small town where she spent her childhood summers. Luckily for Jessie, Springdale is every bit as quirky and idyllic as she remembers, and her aunt Bee's baking is just as mouth-watering. Then the unthinkable happens and there's a murder on the outskirts of town. Worse still, Jessie's new friend is the prime suspect. The cops think the case is cut-and-dry, but Jessie's gut tells her there's more going on than meets the eye. Can she get to the bottom of it?

Baking Is Murder: A Bee's Bakehouse Cozy Mystery | Kathy Cranston

so-so

A short cozy that's not a bad start to a series. There's some overarching story development happening from the start, and it looks like there will be a romance or two. I do like when cozies have aspects of the story that carry through the series. I think a little less romance in them as a whole would be better.
