“When the cazuela was finally ready, everyone said gracias for the arroz con leche that the campesina stirred.“

A tale about the Cazuela that the farm maiden stirred. As the story goes on, we get to see several events that had to take place before the pot could be stirred.

Mehso-so

The Cazuela That The Farm Maiden Stirred was written by Samantha R. Vamos and illustrated by Rafael Lopez. The illustrations in the book are bright, fun, and full of life. I really like how detailed the pictures are and display an accurate representation of what is going on within the story. The book starts off by talking about “the pot that the farm maiden stirred.“ Throughout the story we get the back story about several events that lead to it.

Pickpick

The Cazuela that the farm maiden stirred published in 2011 was a very cute read. It was so easy to follow along given each sentence was added on the the previous one. The illustrations also made the story more enjoyable.

Pickpick

This book is about the farm maiden who lives in a Hispanic culture. The book was published in 2011 and includes Spanish vocabulary in a way that builds on top of what was previously said. The colors are incredibly happy and the help from the farm animals allows for the recipe to work.

I read to L everyday, often multiple times a day, so we've been getting books from the library and I love my new exposure as an adult to this story form and observing her responses to the stories, illustrations, and ways that I read them. Plus many of the books are helping me learn Spanish (in addition to using Duolingo). #picturebooks #librarylove

KCorter Children's books are a perfect way to learn another language! @acorter is using Duolingo as well. How do you like it so far? 7y
needleminding @KCorter There are a couple odd lessons that don't feel particularly helpful (like today my lesson focused a lot of the words for sponge & desk?) but overall I like it a lot! 7y
Aninski How old is your baby?? I try reading to my 6mo everyday but he just wants to eat the books :( 7y

needleminding @Aninski She's only 4 mo so she's not quite mobile enough to grab the books from me, but I'm sure that's coming. 😩 7y
Aninski Ahh I see! I like to think that he's developing his "taste" for books (ha-ha ?) but I confess I've been wondering if those lovely pictures of moms and babies reading happily together are all fake. I'll persist!! 7y
needleminding @Aninski I'm beginning to think ALL the lovely pictures of moms & babies are fake. 😄 Good luck! 7y
