Mehso-so

An acceptable read, but nothing really grabbed me in it. The love story was eye roll inducing for me. Teenaged Sundara escapes Cambodia in the '70s following the brutal Khmer Rouge takeover. She tries to adjust to her new life in America while balancing her traditional culture. It raises important questions about how we treat immigrants and refugees in this country.

Notafraidofwords I read this a long long time ago. Memories, sigh. I was like 14 8y
