Tentacle and Wing
Tentacle and Wing | Sarah Porter
4 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
In Sarah Porter's electric middle grade debut, twelve-year-old Ada is a Chimera, one of a number of children born with human and animal DNA thanks to a genetic experiment gone wrong. When she is shipped off to a quarantined school for other kids like herself, she senses that the facility is keeping a secret, which, if discovered, could upend everything the world knows about how Chimeras came into being.

Mehso-so

I love the cover of this book! It is what drew me to it, and the first part of the book had a lot of promise. Then it went all haywire. It didn't really read like a middle grade book, more like a YA. There is a lot of confusing stuff that happens that was disappointing. I wish the author took the time to develop the characters more. It could of been a fantastic series. Instead it was a muddled pile of weird nonsense.

Pickpick

Kids born with strange animal DNA mutations, an uncaring, cruel world that hates and fears them, and a secret, covert facility that safeguards and trains them. It's the X-Men but as children. What is there not to love?

Organizing my to-read pile this morning. (TENTACLE & WING is winning for one of the prettier covers!) What's in your to-read pile?
