They have come to this city of trade on a special mission to purchase a most rare artifact a gift from the ancient goddess, Cybele, to her followers. It s the only remnant of a lost, pagan cult. But no sooner have they arrived when it becomes clear they may be playing at a dangerous game. A colleague and friend of Paula s father is found murdered. There are rumors of Cybele s cult reviving within the very walls of Istanbul. And most telling of all, signs have begun to appear to Paula, urging her to unlock Cybele s secret. Meanwhile, Paula doesn t know who she can trust in Istanbul, and finds herself drawn to two very different men. As time begins to run out, Paula realizes they may all be tied up in the destiny of Cybele s Gift, and she must solve the puzzle before unknown but deadly enemies catch up to her. . . . Full of romance, danger, magic, and suspense, this is a story to excite the most adventurous spirit."

4/5🌟

Book 2 to Wildwood Dancing. The story is born anew with Jena's younger sister Paula - the scholar, in Istanbul on her own quest for wisdom & love. A bit wordier than the first book. But maybe that makes sense because it's about an intellectual. There are many new and wonderful things to delight and entertain in this book and its definitely a pleasant read!

idealityandme I found some moments a touch unsatisfying - such as kisses, and the ending felt flat and stretched. Definitely suited perfectly for an innocent audience but with brains. This book seemed like it was translated from another language or edited less thoroughly than the first...but I didnt really seem to care because my imagination just fixed it right up to get on with the story. Worth a read. A nice follow-up to Wildwood Dancing and the characters. 3y

This book returns to the characters of Wildwood Dancing. It is a nice fantasy/adventure story but for some reason I stalled in the middle. When I came back to it I ended up quite enjoying it. ⭐⭐⭐
