A non fiction book pondering human happiness and dealing with anxiety in the modern world. Some very interesting ideas and loads of great quotes and information. Found it a little bit repetitious toward the end but easy to read due to the structure of the book. ⭐⭐⭐ I have been a fan of Matt Haig since reading The Humans.

EmilyM I have anxiety and some of the things he brought me anxious! But, overall, I thought it was a pretty good book. Like you said, a little repetitive, but not bad. 8mo

dreadamara I was just talking about this the other day and the topic reminded me of a TED talk i saw about ways the world could end where they suggested one was manking losing the will to live, which made me think of the increasing occurences of anxiety in modern society. 8mo

Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I'm going to give this one 3 stars. Based on true events I would probably have liked more insight into what the characters were thinking and feeling. Maybe it's cause the book started out as a screenplay, not sure. It's still an incredible story.

OnlyYoo I agree. I also think it might be because the author is writing someone else‘s accounts? It‘s not the author‘s firsthand experience which made it feel a little more impersonal imo 9mo
samjmitchell Agree. And I thought I was the only one! It‘s always difficult to criticize someones memory, especially of this subject matter, but I don‘t think it had to do with Lale. I think it was the authors translation of his feelings. If it wasn‘t a true story I wouldn‘t have believed how fast they fell in love! 9mo
