This very short story was so western, and so wholesome. I thoroughly enjoyed it♡ A great story on faith, blindness, gratitude, and love within a community. The writing was also very strong and impressive.

I loved it. I loved it because I love the characters and I enjoy what is developing in plot and in relationships. That being said, I feel like more could have happened in this book. But I am excited for the next one coming out in February!

Meh. It was well written but there was a lot going on and it lacked romance. It could have been better.

A bit slower than the first 2 books because this book deals with a lot of day to day political court life and the love interests do not spend much time together overall. But the second half of the book picks up! There are some interesting side plots. There is definitely 1 moment in particular that shocked me! Overall a good conclusion.

A nice sequel to the first of the series. If you enjoy royal history - this series is inspired by Bloody Mary. Some clean romance and a strong female lead character. There are positive messages of redemption and forgiveness and courage. I enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed this sister series to The Druid while I wait for the next book! This book in particular was a good enjoyable read in the same world as many of his other books. And also similarly, it has religious concepts in fantasy form and is clean. But do not assume that means flat and boring, because this one offers a very intriguing storyline.

I enjoyed this very much & I'm surprised by that. It snuck up on me. It definitely has some moments of not-so-subtle religious/spiritual undertones that could have been improved, but the story itself was very intriguing & I'm sad I can't listen to the next book for another 4 days 😢 If you listen to these on audible, some of the accents are not great but it isn't terrible either. This is a great listen while you keep your hands busy!

The finale! Was looking forward to a little alone time for Alex and her beau, but then no. It fell flat for me at the conclusion. There was so much build up of failure upon failure that the resolution was meh....and insecure? That being said, I still enjoyed the series.

A nice sequel. This is a slow, take-it-easy kind of story. Lots of small storylines going on at their own pace from book to book. There are micro hints of a maybe romance but mostly friendship. Very innocent. Definitely YA. I don't hate it! I enjoy it. It is easy. Not very many complaints! On to the next.

Surprisingly engaging! The characters and dialogue are a smidge childish...BUT I'm enjoying it so far. A good casual read. I'm on to the next book asap because the whole series is free on audible for the next day and a half.

There were things that were interesting & promising, but there were more little things that irritated me💁‍♀️

Things maybe to know:
-the author thinks most of the south is racist
-there is crude language
-the audiobook gives the love interest a cringe savanna accent
-the story felt incomplete, like it needs a sequel
-unusual & unique characters
-interesting magic
-full of politically left leaning attitude, in case that is or isn't your thing

Another piece of perfection by Marden! The wisdom found in this book ages well, while also having some humorous details from the time. This book has opened my eyes to things I could not see on my own; my duty to my own self and existence. He is like a wise and loving friend or mentor for me. I admire him - his devastating but triumphant life; but also the gifts he gave to the world through his writing♡

A simple children's tale. I was looking forward to it, but it fell a little flat for me personally. It was heavy on dialogue while the story felt empty and without a real purpose. I found myself skimming quickly large portions to get on with the story. I eventually switched to audiobook for the last couple chapters & felt it was much better suited as a casual but happy background read. Overall I give it a 3/5 ⭐️! Not awful, just simple & pleasant.

Lovely! It felt as if Frances was guiding me into womanhood. The teacher I never knew I needed! If this doesn't put your life into perspective and order, I'm not sure what will. I so much appreciate what women fought for, for me to have what I have. We are so blessed, but we have much responsibility. We must make more of ourselves with such freedoms and improve our own characters and fulfill our duties; to God, ourselves, family, and then society.

This was a masterfully written story. The Characters were lovely! The world building was thorough. It is a slow but steady read. Wasn't really what I expected🤷‍♀️ The perspective it is written in makes it a little less personal and all the characters almost become MCs because of this and it's a lot to keep up with and at times a little frustrating.

Continued in the comments --->

idealityandme I felt like there was so much back story and character build up for what I expected to be an epic ending but the hero doesnt reach adulthood until halfway through the book. I found myself wanting to be able to sink my teeth in deeper to Bayr's character but the book seemed to keep him at a distance with all of the story telling 2y
idealityandme . When the book was coming to a close I didnt feel satisfied or rewarded properly. It was a beautiful story and didn't suck and was overall enjoyable but I wanted something more epic as an ending and wanted more built into the love story side of things. I felt at times like more could have been written during certain moments instead of skipped over or rushed on quickly. Perhaps this could have been split into two books to fix that for me. 🤷‍♀️ 2y
idealityandme Long review, but overall a good read. I think many people would really enjoy this. Especially if the love story side isnt a big deal to you and if you like a slower story build up! 2y

Started out w strong GOT vibe. Very intriguing. But it slowly lost its glitter along the way. Worth a read but I wont be continuing w the series for a few reasons. 1. It was EXTREMELY raunchy for a YA book. So much lust. Not my thing. 2. Book 2 throws the 1st relationship away like it was trash & toxic...& that's a HUGE pet peeve. Love should be enduring & forgiving - especially when you are willing to die for the person in the 1st place.

Wow wow wow. I do not say this often...but this was pretty incredible. No book is perfect, but this one definitely hit all the spots for me. My only complaint is that I wish it were longer🤷‍♀️ I want more. Thank goodness there is a second book! I LOVED the characters. I loved the concepts. I loved the attitudes and sass and stubbornness and the romance and pretty much everything I guess. It was beautiful like a dance. Don't skip this one.

Book 2 to Wildwood Dancing. The story is born anew with Jena's younger sister Paula - the scholar, in Istanbul on her own quest for wisdom & love. A bit wordier than the first book. But maybe that makes sense because it's about an intellectual. There are many new and wonderful things to delight and entertain in this book and its definitely a pleasant read!

idealityandme I found some moments a touch unsatisfying - such as kisses, and the ending felt flat and stretched. Definitely suited perfectly for an innocent audience but with brains. This book seemed like it was translated from another language or edited less thoroughly than the first...but I didnt really seem to care because my imagination just fixed it right up to get on with the story. Worth a read. A nice follow-up to Wildwood Dancing and the characters. 2y

This is a reread from my childhood! Overall a very lovely and whimsical story full of magic, control, and love. I would consider this book a very tame and innocent YA fiction. Very clean compared to most YA these days. I'm clearly an adult now and I still very much enjoyed reading it again even with the main character being a very mature 15/16 year old. This is not a heart pounder. Very much for classic enjoyment♡

The MC is as idiotic & immature as ever & you will be dying several times inside. But you will not regret reading this book! Much more interesting than the previous 2 books! I am disappointed that the author decided to leave this story hanging with this book & slap a 20 year gap in between for the next. I can't bring myself to invest myself on the 4th book. BUT I do feel satisfied with leaving this series at 3 books! Worth the read.
