Loved this book.
Sardinia felt more sinister than I knew it to be, the lead character the only light in a gothic tale.
And I believed every breath.
Excellent stuff.

Accabadora was a woman who gave death like an act of mercy to people who's suffering for debilitating diseases. Actually, it's not proven that this figure was really existed in Sardinia in the past, but the novel is about one of this women and it tells about her role in the society and as a mother (she adopted a rejected girl).
It's the first book that came to my mind for #matriarch ❤
Day 12
Accabadora (the one who finishes) is the last mother, the one who ends the agony of a human being and brings death with love and compassion. The story of how Mary copes with discovering her adoptive mother's unsettling secret occupation. Made me think of contemporary TV series "Mary Kills People"...
