Marking Time
Marking Time: Book One: the Immortal Descendants | April White
Seventeen-year-old tagger Saira Elian can handle anything...a mother who mysteriously disappears, a stranger who stalks her around London, and even the noble English Grandmother who kicked Saira and her mother out of the family. But when an old graffiti tag in a tube station transports Saira to the 19th Century and she comes face-to-face with Jack the Ripper, she realizes she needs help after all. Saira meets Archer, a charming student who helps her blend in as much as a tall, modern American teen can in Victorian England. He reveals the existence of the Immortals: Time, Nature, Fate, War and Death, and explains to Saira that it is possible to move between centuries - if you are a Descendant of Time. Saira finds unexpected friendships at a boarding school for Immortal Descendants and a complicated love with a young man from the past. But time is running out for her mother, and Saira must embrace her new identity as she hides from Archer a devastating secret about his future that may cost him his life.

I love a good time travel story. Plus the travel is to Jack the Ripper‘s London. I picked this up for free on Amazon (Kindle version) and took a chance on it. I‘m glad I did. It‘s a rip-roaring YA story with a great unwilling heroine, Time Travelers, vampires, shape-shifters and Jack the Ripper. Go ahead. It‘s free. I decided to keep reading the series and the next one goes to Elizabethan London.

Dragon Downloaded the free iBook , thanks for the suggestion 👍🐉 7y
DivaDiane @Dragon You‘re welcome! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. 7y

Something you should know I'm not a fan of time travel novels. I'm just not. But Litten @AprilWhiteBooks talked me into her series and I willing shelled out cold hard cash for a time travel novel. It won a Library Journal Indie Award and sounds really interesting. Plus I am pretty sure it's on Kindle or Kindle unlimited free or pretty cheep. Most of the books I've posted can be found on Kindle and many can be found on other platforms. #pennedcon17

jpmcwisemorgan Ok this one sounds interesting. I‘m going to have to try it someday when I‘ve knocked out more if my TBR. 7y

These are the only #bookmarks that I've ever been able to use without misplacing, and now I'll never go back. Yes, I buy them in bulk. The ones that I'm not currently using live in my hollowed out copy of Jane Eyre! #riotgrams

Godmotherx5 What a fun way to store them. 8y
BethFishReads Where do you buy them? 8y
JessReads @BethFishReads Amazon sells packs of 12 that I buy when I'm low! BAM sells them individually (or used to, at least), so I pick up a few anytime I visiting my mom in PA and we visit one (the only place I ever go to them). I'll never pass up a chance to add to my collection! 8y
BethFishReads Thanks. 8y
