This book was great. It tells the story of how Abigail Adams witnessed the gathering of the revolution, and the book was published in the year of 1995. Something that I found interesting with this book was the amount of detail that was given in the view of Abigail Adams.
The story is told very uniquely through the letters written to her friends and family, but also through first encounters of the battle taking place on a hill near her home.

em_lemo Because this book used a lot of letters that were written by Abigail Adams, I started to look up more of the letters that may have not been in the book. One of these letters, was one from her to her husband.
“I most sincerely wish that some more liberal plan might be laid and executed for the benefit of the rising generation...“
This stuck out to me because she seems to be a woman that may have been ahead of her time, in some ways.

I was never one who liked history growing up! It only started when I started homeschooling my children. My son has since gone back to school but my daughter is still at home. This was one of the homeschool books that I got and just finished reading. It was a very good book and I learned a lot about her and her husband John Adams.
